Notes:

Similar to Night 1 in terms of sound quality - was slightly windier so the phasing and wind noise is a bit more noticeable but at least they had the sound from the rear stack right from the start of the gig.

I missed the first 2 seconds of this hard land - I couldn't see any activity on the stage from my position so I didn't notice Bruce had come on. ;-)

Usual bunch of chatty cathys around me - one bunch of ladies in particular were very chatty all night. Funnier still was their disgusted reaction everytime the crowd shouted "Bruuuuuucce" - they were getting very upset as they thought everyone was booing.

The show itself was another fine performance from Bruce and the band. This was gig number 23 for me this year and it ranks up there as one of my favourites.

Some nice changes in the setlist - I've always been a fan of Adam and Atlantic city. No matter how many times I hear Nils wailing on Because the Night it never gets old for me - that man is a master of guitar.

All in all I'd a very enjoyable 2 nights with Bruce & Co - 7 hours of some of the best live performances I'm ever likely to see.

For the old fashioned amongst us who still burn to disc this is another 3 disc show - suggested splits after My City of Ruins and Backstreets.

Enjoy the show!

  • Brucebase Info (17.07.2012)

Jake Clemons arrives on stage in a wheelchair. According to Bruce, "Jake sneezed last night and put his back out". Second show in Dublin with no less than sixteen songs not played the previous night. A solo acoustic "This Hard Land" opens, the second airing for the song this tour, although the first in this arrangement. A Darkness On The Edge Of Town trio follows "We Take Care Of Our Own", and it's not until the ninth song of the evening that we get to "Wrecking Ball". Other notables include the third tour performance of "Jackson Cage" and magnificent triple hit of a solo piano "The Promise", "The River" and "Backstreets" before "Land Of Hope And Dreams" closes the main set. Encores include an unexpected "Rocky Ground" before the obligatory "American Land" for Ireland brings the evening to a close.
