- 31.08.2003 - Giants Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ -Disc 1 - 01. Cynthia - Disc 2 - 01. Two Hearts - Disc 3 - 01. Introduction - Notes - + Backstreets: Night 10 at Giants Stadium closed out the stand in style, with a fantastic mix of the old and the new, greatest hits and greatest misses, all for an ecstatic Labor Day weekend crowd. Mix together the last two nights of a lengthy stand with the attendance of a working film crew and what you get are the kinds of setlists that Springsteen fans have been longing for since this Tour began. If you knew tonight’s opener from the first few notes, well, step to the front of the line of The Legion of Bruce. The sounds of “Cynthia” hit the New Jersey air just after 8:30pm to make her live performance debut, and it made this show a real “yeah, yeah, alright!!” for diehards. Other standouts: “Lucky Town,” “Spirit in the Night,” “Lost in the Flood,” and for the second night in a row “Because the Night” sizzled like a fried egg on a hot Texas street. Um, and that was before the encores. “Kitty’s Back” kicked those off, only to be topped by the “will-he-or-won’t-he” (he will!) appearance of Tom Waits’ “Jersey Girl” to close things out. Springsteen thanked those of his fans who come to the shows night after night, with a special nod to those long distance travelers. - + More Info: IEM/AUD mix. The IEM source has a few very short (about a second) skips but it's mostly very unnoticeable. The IEM/AUD mix is subsequently released on CD "Giants Game" from Godfather. Final night of ten at Giants Stadium. Only tour performances of 'Cynthia', 'Lucky Town' and full band 'Jersey Girl'. Badlands features an extra long ending with the audience chanting. Spirit In The Night played by a request. Mary's Place includes couple verses of 'I Don't Wanna Go Home'. Jon Landau plays guitar on "Dancing In The Dark". |

Across The Borderline 2 - Notes - 1 Piano 2 With Bonnie Raitt & Jackson Browne - + More Info: After almost two years off from performing, not including surprise club gigs, and a year of a lot of personal change (he moved to LA, became a father, and broke up the E Street Band), Bruce agreed to do two acoustic shows for the Christic Institute, a public watchdog agency, with Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Browne. Many, many rumors of Bruce´s recording activities circulated in the spring and summer of 1990, and many people wondered if Bruce was going to debut any new songs. Between the two nights, six new songs were played. The first night included the debuts of “Red Headed Woman”, “When The Lights Go Out”, “57 Channels” and “Real World”. The second show for the featured the premieres of “The Wish”, a real rarity until the Ghost of Tom Joad Tour and later released on Tracks, and “Soul Driver”, later released on Human Touch. Bruce also played “Tougher Than The Rest” on piano. “When the Lights Go Out” is never played again, but is released on Tracks. Other highlights from these shows include a slow version on piano of “10th Avenue Freeze out”, “Thunder Road” and “My Hometown”, as well as the acoustic premiere of “Darkness on the Edge of Town”. |
