Debut of "Boom Boom". “Two Faces” has a nice guitar intro again. “Spare Parts” does not have an intro story, for a change, but “All That Heaven Will Allow”, “You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch)” and “I’m A Coward” all includes intro stories, as always. “Light Of Day” fades out midway. "Part Man Part Monkey" includes "Love Is Strange" in the outro. "Born To Run" is solo acoustic. Available on CD "Bloomington Night" (Crystal Cat). This show is the source of an urban legend when it was reported that the origins of the song "Boom Boom" being played was a riff played on the bass, followed by all the band spontaneously joining in and playing the song for the first time ever. Audience tape of whole concert and show is filmed from the audience. 34 song set, and one of the best shows of the tour. "Downbound Train" makes its tour debut. “All That Heaven Will Allow” and “Spare Parts” have shorter intro stories than we got during the first leg of the tour. On the other hand the “You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch)” intro story is expanded almost into a song of it’s own (Don’t You Touch That Thing). The solo acoustic “Born To Run” goes without the usual spoken intro. "Adam Raised A Cain" includes "Hoochie Coochie Man" and "I'm A Man" in the outro. "Cover Me" includes "Gimme Shelter" in the outro. "Dancing In The Dark" includes "Everybody Needs Somebody To Love" and "Lookin' For A Love" in the outro. "Roulette" makes its European debut and "Quarter To Three" is performed for the first time since 1981. Radio broadcast portion released on CD "Summer Night" (Crystal Cat). The rest of the show released as "Summer Night Part 2" (Piggham). Audio recording of “Chimes Of Freedom” from this show (both with and without Bruce’s spoken intro announcing the “Human Rights Now!” Amnesty tour) was officially released on various 12” and CD EPs later that year, including the well-known Chimes Of Freedom EP. The source comes from the same recording  used by Doberman for "This Is Not A Dark Ride?" I received this excellent show in a trade many moons ago. I'm not certain if these were ripped directly from silver CDs, but as far as I can tell all the tracks are clean. This new edit combines the introductions with the appropriate songs, except for the intro to BTR. I also split Ain't Got and She's The One into separate tracks. The only remastering done was on the bonus tracks which needed some tweaking. I excluded two bonus songs "Crying" and "New York, New York" from Doberman's version, since the quality was less than desirable. Having just 4 bonus tracks with better quality made for an excellent recording. New artwork was also created using 1988 era photos. So few shows from The Tunnel of Love Express Tour were released and there are so many gems from this show, including the premeire of the famous Jack Wilson song, LONELY TEARDROPS! so this should make for a great one to have in your collection!

Debut of 8 songs from TOL as well as 4 other previously unplayed tracks, as well as Be True, which has had only one other public outing before. - + The Boots: After six weeks of rehearsals, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, along with the Horns of Love (formerly the Miami Horns), began the 1988 Tunnel of Love Express Tour.  Bruce developed a concept show about relationships, which meant that the set list changed very little over the next several months. This show was chosen (to top 55 shows ever -ev2 note) because everything was fresh and new, and because of the amazing keyboard intro to "Walk Like a Man," which was not played after the tour left Worcester. This show featured the debut of eight songs from Tunnel of Love, four additional previously unplayed songs, and "Be True," which was played only once before, as well as an acoustic "Born to Run." .- + More Info: From Mark P's master tapes. (Thanks). I had this planned for editing a long time ago, but edited this once, sound wasn't good enough, burned it and lost it. Thanks to a couple of guys on SPL (you know who you are) I got the files again and edited from scratch. I compared this to one of the previous 2/25 recordings and although they sound pretty much alike, this one was probably just a bit better. There really wasn't much of all difference. The sound really isn't as good as I'd like it to be and the only reason I'll let this one get out there is that this really is a special show.
